Several students helped plan and implement the Goodwill Job Fair held in May during Goodwill Industries Week. One university student served as a mentor to participants enrolled in the Goodwill’s Certified Nursing Assistant Training class. Yet, another student was later hired by the Goodwill as the Goodwill Works Life Skills Instructor at the City of Long Beach Multi-Service Center, which provides services to the homeless.

“The true benefactors to our partnership are the students and the individuals we serve through our education, training and job placement programs,” said  McCarthy-Wilson, President & CEO. “This five-year relationship has proved that service learning can be included in our Workforce Development programs to meet the needs of a variety of populations and age groups.”
